About The Position

Workforce Solutions Borderplex is seeking a fast-learning, proactive Digital Media Apprentice to join our Communications team. This hands-on apprenticeship is designed for a college student or recent graduate who is eager to build their portfolio and gain real-world experience in communications, outreach, and digital media. We are looking for someone with a strong background in graphic design and/or motion graphics, though this will not be their only focus—all responsibilities listed below apply. This role requires someone who is good at initiating tasks or projects and can quickly jump in to support team needs. Because our department moves fast, there isn’t a lot of room for extensive training—you’ll need to learn quickly, adapt easily, and contribute right away. The apprentice may also be required to drive to events, meetings, and production locations to capture video, photography, or other media.

Requirements

  • College student or recent graduate in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Production, or related field.
  • Strong skills in graphic design and/or motion graphics; experience with other areas such as videography, video editing, or photography is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • A fast learner with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outgoing, vibrant, and energetic—someone who brings positive energy to the team and connects well with others.
  • Must be willing to travel locally for events, meetings, and production needs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet requirements to be included as an authorized driver on the Workforce Solutions Borderplex Commercial Package Policy as stipulated by the insurance carrier.
  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit communications materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
  • Capture and edit photos or videos to highlight events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Design graphics, flyers, and other creative assets using Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of outreach events and campaigns.
  • Assist in developing promotional content such as brochures, presentations, and digital ads.
  • Help manage audience engagement on social media platforms.
  • Use tools like Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Illustrator), Canva, Monday.com, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Analytics, Mobile Texting, and Mailchimp.
  • Monitor analytics and engagement to report on the performance of campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Communications team and other departments to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Jump into team projects and contribute creative ideas that align with organizational goals.
