About The Position

The Digital Marketing Specialist is crucial to the success of the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (PAE) team’s high-volume digital communication program, supporting the build, testing, deployment and optimization of email programs and associated forms and landing pages within a marketing automation platform. The Specialist is a creative thinker and problem solver with a desire to develop competency across the digital marketing skillset. This role is an opportunity to learn and own the execution of the marketing automation practice in the organization, and provides experience in web strategy, analytics, user experience design and technical marketing. The position works in close collaboration with client teams in Alumni Engagement and Donor Events and Experiences, as well as within the marketing and communications team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management information systems, communications or related discipline; OR
  • Two years of experience in a marketing or advertising agency; OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Marketo or other marketing automation platforms a plus.
  • Experience with the Google Marketing Platform (including Analytics, Tag Manager, Data Studio etc.).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and internet applications such as project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Handles day-to-day duties of running automated marketing campaigns to support the goals of the PAE.
  • Ensures an optimal user experience through design support for landing pages, emails and templates across digital platforms.
  • Provides consultative support to stakeholders by applying creative and strategic thinking to their requested program builds, optimized to increase impact on business goals.
  • Builds marketing segments based on behavioral data and prospect data.
  • Works with internal colleagues to improve data quality and processes.
  • Responsible for analyzing outcomes, building and interpreting reporting, executing tests and identifying opportunities to expand or ways to improve automation programs.
  • Follows and refines reporting procedures and standards.
  • Maintains reporting of all automations and outbound email programs in progress to advise and inform divisional colleagues as they plan communications to support their programs.
  • Works with the Marketing Associate to manage workflows and deadlines associated with fulfillment of automation campaign requests.
