About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Manufacturing Engineer. This position partners with solution providers to develop and implement a Digital Manufacturing strategy for production facilities within the PCC Metals and Energy groups. Responsibilities include shop-floor integration, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). The role collaborates with global IT and manufacturing teams at the project-management level. The expectation is that this position will spearhead technology-driven business process transformation and innovation within the manufacturing IT environment. The incumbent will interface with operational functions—including IT, Finance, and Operations—to support PCC Metals’ strategic goals. This role requires a highly self-motivated individual with the ability to initiate and complete tasks with minimal oversight. Summary The Digital Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for gathering business requirements and supporting the development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of PCC Metals digital manufacturing solutions. These systems are used across multiple Metals and Forging sites by Operations (shop floor), Quality, Laboratories, and Maintenance, as well as the Commercial, HR, and Finance organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study (or equivalent project-related experience).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with Industry 4.0, robotics, digital manufacturing, MS SQL, MES, IoT, and ERP Systems.
  • Experience with common database platforms such as SQL Server, including native programming languages such as SQL.
  • Experience with Agile project methodologies.
  • Experience architecting and implementing data projects in Cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to design workflows and procedures using standard tools in the MS Office environment.
  • Ability to create robust MES dashboards and status reports in alignment with Operations and Data Office requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree is desirable.
  • Additional experience in MES/shopfloor platforms, especially DELMIA Apriso, Wonderware/Aveva, Ignition, and DELMIA 3D Experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Industry 4.0 solution providers, equipment manufacturers, and the ERP vendor to design and implement the required system integration points and data flows to achieve best-in-class lights-out manufacturing.
  • Work with solution providers to develop, implement, and continuously improve MES, SCADA, and KPI outputs.
  • Partner with Division IT to ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, the IT internal control framework, and cybersecurity.
  • Partner with Division Data Office to support Corporate and Division data governance and master data policies and initiatives.
  • Partner with other PCC divisions to implement standardization and best practices, and to capture synergies through common solutions, knowledge sharing, and support.
