About The Position

The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Digital Learning Specialist. This role supports the integration of digital tools to amplify learning and will assist the Digital Learning Team with the tech plan re-evaluation and re-write. The specialist will collaborate with Central Office departments to infuse digital learning best practices through modeling, coaching, and guidance. Additionally, this position will system-administer instructional and technical platforms and design and deliver personalized training for MMSD staff, which may occur during atypical hours. The role involves fostering the Information and Technology plan, maintaining a high degree of integrity, promoting continuous improvement, and creating an inclusive and positive work environment with a growth mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • Experience in instructional technology, adult learning principles and collaborative facilitation.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and the development of sophisticated digital learning resources and projects.
  • The ability to establish relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to apply principles and practices that promote and advance anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Instructional technology skills for data analysis, collaboration, communication, professional learning, and productivity.
  • Strong oral, written, and online communication skills.
  • Organizational and group facilitation skills.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of research, best practices, and issues in development for digital learning.
  • Sophisticated knowledge regarding current trends, research-based methodologies, and emerging challenges in the field of digital learning.
  • Demonstrate leadership in school or district-level coaching and the design of high-impact initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate complex technical and instructional concepts for diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrate commitment to leveraging digital tools to modernize curriculum and amplify outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technology skills for data analysis, collaboration, communication, and productivity.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of technology integration models to support digital implementation.
  • Integrate digital learning in alignment across all curricular areas and MMSD universal instructional practices.
  • System administrator for Securly, Google for Education, and other digital platforms.
  • Help coordinate, design, and deliver District-wide training, such as site-based meetings, ongoing group meetings, and workshops.
  • Implement and design effective training practices, including through the use of technology.
  • Deliver engaging and effective personalized training.
  • Gather and use needs assessments and/or effectiveness feedback data to reflect and adjust training strategies.
  • Contribute to the district technology plan re-evaluation.
  • Conduct non-evaluative, information-gathering learning walks for data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with members of the Digital Learning team and other departments to support the use of instructional technology.
  • Meet established deadlines, fulfill assigned responsibilities, and follow through on commitments.
  • Exhibit reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and effective time management.
  • Implement and follow established Tech Services policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard organizational systems and data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership or their representatives or designees.
  • Attend district and school functions that support MMSD’s strategic framework, initiatives, and core values.
  • Complete any and all district required training.
  • Build collaborative relationships with business partners.
