About The Position

The Digital Learning Fellow, Sloan School of Management, will develop course curricula for a set of modules for a bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship and Management, targeted to an African audience. The Fellow will leverage existing MIT courses on MITx Online, Sloan, and existing OpenEdX and Canvas platforms. Working with Professors Suri and Van der Hilst, educational staff at MIT, and faculty at partner institutions in Africa, the Fellow will develop courses with learning objectives, detailed content outlines, measurable outcomes, interactive activities, engaging video, and thoughtful discussion forums. For some existing courses at Sloan, the Fellow will create assessment systems and explore how AI can be leveraged in online education. The role involves content creation in studios in West Africa, requiring travel and collaboration with local creatives. The Fellow will be responsible for developing and launching courses on time, on budget, and to MIT quality standards.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Graduate level) in field of applied entrepreneurship, management, or related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience for college-level courses (could be as a teaching assistant).
  • Demonstrated experience as an instructional designer or course developer.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices, current research, and innovations in digital teaching and learning in higher education.
  • Strong project management, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Desire to learn new (technical) skills.
  • Proficiency with Python, Javascript, XML, CSS, and LaTeX.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating plots and 3D interactive images in Mathematica, MATLAB, or python.
  • Ties to Africa or experience on the continent.
  • Experience using Adobe tools and video editing software (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere).
