About The Position

The Effector Subsystem Products Department designs digital electronic circuit cards and electronic units, which are supported from proposal through transition to production. Our systems are subject to environments ranging from the frigid, sub-zero vacuum of space to the blistering heat of the desert floor, to the high pressures of the ocean depths. We are seeking current college students willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our engineers to generate and utilize today’s cutting-edge technology to design digital electronic circuits that implement missile guidance, video, and digital signal processing. Our technology base includes high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and homogeneous / heterogeneous multiprocessor designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree.
  • Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: circuit design, digital electronics, lab course work, PCB design and signal integrity.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Printed Wiring Boards (PWB)
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and writing as well as thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired

Responsibilities

  • Developing unit and module level requirements derived from system level requirements
  • Circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, DDR memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Performing analysis and testing of the FPGA, circuit card, module, and/or unit in a laboratory setting
  • Guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout and technical drawing creation.
  • Performing design work within the bounds of a given schedule, and sometimes defining the schedule.
  • Presenting reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff and guiding junior engineers in honing this skill.
  • Design, review, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for Missile applications.
  • Generate Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layout constraint guidelines, oversee the layout and fabrication of the design.
