About The Position

RedPoint Media Group is seeking a Digital Graphic Designer Intern for an eight-week term, effective immediately. This full-time contract position is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in magazine design, digital media, visual storytelling, and branded content production while working with an award-winning publishing company. RedPoint Media Group is an award-winning publishing house and content-driven marketing studio in Calgary. Our work spans city lifestyle publications, digital platforms, events, and custom content for clients across the community. RedPoint Media has a hybrid office setup offering employees the opportunity to work from home or from the co-working space at CSpace Marda Loop. Some face-to-face meetings as well as event attendance will be necessary. This role is supported by funding from the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program.

Requirements

Strong design sense with attention to typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
Basic understanding of digital and social media design.
Strong organization and file-management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in publishing, design, digital media, and creative storytelling.
Professional, collaborative, and creative.
Highly organized and detail-focused.
Comfortable taking feedback and applying revisions quickly.
A self-starter who takes initiative.
Curious, visually driven, and eager to learn.
Passionate about producing polished, high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or other design software is an asset.
Photography or video editing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Create graphic design for digital, social and print platforms as assigned.
Use Adobe Photoshop to colour adjust or close crop images as required.
Print proofs or create PDFs and ensure they are delivered to the appropriate editors in a timely manner.
Generate print to web assets as needed.
Assist in producing Instagram pushes.
Photo research and sourcing.
Video production work. Assist in arranging photo shoots in conjunction with the design director and staff photographer.
Participate in team meetings, including brainstorming.
Complete other duties as assigned.
