About The Position

Envista Forensics is a global, multidisciplinary forensic consulting firm that works with insurance and legal professionals to determine the cause, responsibility, and extent of losses involving data, systems, structures, or equipment. The Digital Forensics Examiner conducts investigations and produces findings that can withstand legal scrutiny. The role involves working directly with clients, supporting the marketing of the firm’s services between casework, and potentially serving as an expert witness. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• EnCE certification or substantial hands-on EnCase experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in computer forensics and information security.
• At least 3 years of experience diagnosing security breaches, firewalls, or network security issues.
• At least 3 years of software and hardware testing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to small or large groups.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with hard drive failure analysis.
• Experience with circuit or mechanical failure analysis.
• Experience working with law firms and insurers.
• Ability to speak a second language.

Responsibilities

• Conduct digital forensic examinations across a range of media and sources.
• Use industry-standard tools such as EnCase to investigate and interpret data.
• Research, analyze, and connect information in complex investigations.
• Work directly with clients and help market Envista’s services between casework.
• Document findings in clear notes and reports suitable for courtroom use.
• Serve as an expert witness when investigations are presented in court.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.
