About The Position

The Digital Experience Designer creates and implements intuitive, engaging, and conversion-focused digital experiences across the company’s eCommerce websites and digital marketing channels. Working at the intersection of design, marketing, and development, this role combines UI/UX design, visual design, prototyping, design systems, and hands-on HTML/CSS implementation. The designer collaborates with functional stakeholders and development partners to translate customer needs and business requirements into responsive, accessible, and brand-consistent digital experiences. The role also contributes to digital marketing creative, web content, packaging, brand applications, and photography/video direction as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Design, UX/UI Design, Web Design, Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in digital design, UX/UI design, web design, or a related discipline; 5+ years preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design, responsive web design, digital experiences, design systems, and visual design capabilities.
  • Strong proficiency with Figma or comparable interface design and prototyping tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, including responsive and mobile-first development.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and related creative applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate design concepts into production-ready front-end interfaces.
  • Experience creating and maintaining reusable CSS, UI components, templates, or design systems.
  • Working knowledge of Git and source-control workflows, including branches and pull requests.
  • Familiarity with development environments, staging environments, QA, and production deployment processes.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and modern UX/UI best practices.
  • Experience designing for eCommerce, transactional websites, or other complex digital experiences.
  • Strong visual design foundation, including typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, and brand application.
  • Ability to develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and production-ready interface designs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance usability, aesthetics, business objectives, and technical requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and developing within eCommerce platforms or large product-catalog websites.
  • Experience with B2B and B2C eCommerce customer journeys.
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or iterative development environments.
  • Experience with workflow management and issue-tracking solutions such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end development concepts.
  • Experience with component-based front-end frameworks or templating systems.
  • Experience with accessibility standards such as WCAG.
  • Experience with analytics, heatmapping, session-recording, A/B testing, or conversion-rate optimization tools.

  • Experience designing marketing campaign creative, landing pages, digital advertising, packaging, or product graphics.
  • Experience providing art direction for photography and video production.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management and organized creative asset workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with external agencies, development partners, or technology vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Design and continuously improve customer-centered experiences across eCommerce websites and related digital touchpoints.
  • Create intuitive, responsive, and conversion-focused experiences that improve product discovery, engagement, usability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Translate customer needs, business requirements, and stakeholder priorities into effective digital solutions.
  • Use research, analytics, testing, prototyping, and UX best practices to inform design decisions and ongoing optimization.
  • Contribute to and help evolve digital design systems, UI standards, reusable components, and templates that improve consistency and development efficiency.
  • Maintain design patterns that align with brand standards, accessibility requirements, responsive design principles, and implementation needs.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize interface patterns and improve design-to-development handoffs.
  • Translate approved designs and prototypes into production-ready HTML/CSS within established eCommerce platforms and development frameworks.
  • Create responsive, accessible, and reusable front-end components and styles.
  • Collaborate with internal and external development resources to resolve implementation issues and ensure the final experience accurately reflects approved designs.
  • Participate in established design and development workflows, including source control, development and staging environments, quality assurance, and release processes.
  • Review implementations for design accuracy, usability, responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and handoff practices that improve the efficiency and quality of digital experience delivery.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve digital experiences using customer behavior, analytics, business priorities, UX best practices, and performance data.
  • Design enhancements that improve engagement, product discovery, conversion, and digital ordering.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and eCommerce stakeholders to prioritize and evaluate customer-experience improvements.
  • Serve as a cross-functional design partner to Marketing, eCommerce, PIM, Product, IT, development, operations, and creative teams.
  • Clearly communicate design rationale, UX recommendations, and technical considerations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Balance customer needs, brand standards, business objectives, technical feasibility, and timelines when developing solutions.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and all related information necessary for effective management.
  • Performs all other duties as apparent or assigned.
  • Attends training as assigned by GNE.
