Digital Experience Designer I

Radiant Technology•Orange Township, OH
•$48,000 - $58,000

About The Position

Radiant Technology is a technology integration and professional services company focused on digital signage, audio-visual systems, data-driven experiences, and enterprise visualization. Our Digital Experience Management (DXM) Division designs, deploys, integrates, and supports integrated digital experience systems across airports, manufacturing facilities, healthcare environments, corporate spaces, and enterprise organizations. Radiant combines systems integration, professional services, digital experience strategy and technical expertise, infrastructure and deployment engineering, and software-driven operational solutions. Our teams work across software platforms, infrastructure, networking, hardware, monitoring systems, and real-time operational data environments to deliver scalable, maintainable customer solutions. Within that work, the Digital Experience Team owns the audience-facing content and experience. The Digital Experience Designer I is an entry-level, hands-on design and implementation role. You will help determine what an audience needs, design clear and engaging content, build the experience in supported digital-signage and web tools, test it in the real environment, and help customers and teammates use what was delivered. This is not a role where you hand off a mockup and walk away. You will carry assigned work from idea through implementation, testing, documentation, training, and handoff-with regular direction and review as you build independence. You do not need to arrive as a digital-signage expert or web developer. You do need to have intentionally trained as a designer and developed a strong eye for hierarchy, typography, composition, color, consistency, usability, and the overall quality of an experience. You must also be curious about how systems work and genuinely willing to learn content management systems, digital-signage platforms, and basic web technologies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, interaction design, digital media design, or a closely related design-focused discipline.
  • A portfolio that shows your use of hierarchy, typography, composition, color, and consistency. Your work should show how you organize information for an audience. Be prepared to explain the assignment, your decisions, and how you revised the design.
  • The ability to explain your work in writing and conversation, check details, and work with customers and teammates in design and technical roles.
  • The ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar software and technical tools. You ask questions when you need direction, use feedback to improve your work, and follow through on assigned tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital signage, content-management systems, web-content tools, presentation systems, or low-code or no-code platforms. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is also helpful.
  • Design experience with motion, video, interactive content, data visualization, or content for physical spaces and audio-visual systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review the project requirements and identify what the audience needs to understand or do. Ask questions about the content, setting, and project constraints before you begin designing.
  • Organize the content and design the layouts, graphics, motion, video, data displays, or interfaces the project needs.
  • Explain your design decisions and revise your work based on feedback.
  • Build and configure content in the digital-signage and content-management platforms Radiant supports. Follow the team's established methods.
  • Learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser testing, then use them to build basic web content with guidance.
  • Build a sample for early review. Test the completed content on the intended screens, players, and browsers. Check resolution, orientation, and playback schedules. Fix design and configuration issues and test again.
  • Document your work so another team member can support or update it. Prepare and deliver assigned customer or team training using walkthroughs, guides, or recorded demonstrations.
  • Keep the team informed about progress, missing information, and problems that may affect delivery. Get approval before releasing work to customers.
  • Use what you learn on later assignments. Suggest changes when you see a way to improve a recurring task.
