About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Digital Engineer to support the THAAD Weapon System Engineering Directorate (TBTE). The role develops and deploys THAAD Project Office digital engineering environments, automated workflows, and data pipelines that connect multidisciplinary engineering teams. It involves working with government stakeholders, prime contractors, and system architects to establish a unified digital thread. The Digital Engineer integrates system architectures and engineering data, automates model and data workflows, and collaborates with modeling and simulation teams on digital twin environments. The position also applies open standards and data governance practices and creates technical documentation and guidance to support government engineers and contractor partners. An active Secret security clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related field, or equivalent work experience that meets job guidelines.
  • At least 8 years of related professional experience.
  • 3–5+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on digital engineering, systems integration, or MBSE methodologies in a defense, aerospace, or government contractor environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or IBM Rhapsody, and a strong understanding of SysML and DoDAF.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or Java for tool integration, scripting, and API framework manipulation.
  • Experience with JSON, XML, SQL databases, and RESTful web services in an integrated digital environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent collaborative problem-solving skills, curiosity about multidisciplinary technologies, and ability to champion digital transformation across traditional engineering groups.
  • Familiarity with missile defense components such as interceptors, radars, fire control, trajectories, and GNC.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage automated interfaces and APIs that connect MBSE tools and product lifecycle systems.
  • Align high-level SysML system architectures developed in DOORS, Cameo, or MagicDraw with downstream engineering data, including trajectory simulations, aerodynamic performance models, and sensor capabilities.
  • Develop scripts and plugins in Python, Java, or MATLAB to automate data transfer, model transformations, and digital verification pipelines.
  • Collaborate with modeling and simulation teams to integrate HWIL and SWIL environments with digital twin baselines to predict weapon system performance and operational readiness.
  • Implement and enforce open standards and XML schemas to support secure semantic continuity and interoperability across contractor and government databases.
