About The Position

Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-level Digital Electronics Circuit & Unit Hardware Design Engineer to join the Space Digital Products & Electronics team in El Segundo, CA. This role involves designing and implementing the digital circuitry that drives satellite functionality, with a focus on digital signal processing, data communication, digital control systems, and embedded systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of digital components for efficient data processing and communication within satellites. The work environment is described as cradle-to-grave in satellite development, with an on-site satellite factory and co-located electronics teams, fostering high collaboration and rapid concept-to-reality capabilities. The company provides extensive tools, resources, and a database of prior engineering work, along with access to experienced engineers and mentors. As part of Boeing's Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems Division, there are opportunities for continuous learning and development across various projects including satellites, the ISS, disruptive computing, avionics, missiles, and autonomous systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience or coursework with Analog or Digital Electronics, Circuits, or Hardware

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Industry experience with digital electronics hardware development
  • Circuit design and analysis experience
  • Experience in designing, analyzing and testing complex Electronic Circuit Card Assemblies and Units: including generating schematics, performing IR drop, signal integrity and timing analysis
  • Experience with schematic capture and layout rules, and circuit analysis tools
  • Firmware, Microprocessor or other Hardware oriented experience can be helpful
  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of state-of-the art digital circuit & unit hardware / digital electronics for aerospace applications
  • Electronics design, requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification
  • Technical support for production and test of electronic products
  • Support projects involving Electronics design
  • Maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products
  • Develop detailed designs of limited scope
  • Conducts various methods of testing and analysis to support design
  • Capture data for technical performance measures and performs basic analysis
  • Provide basic engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
  • Conducts trade studies and literature research to support future product designs
