About The Position

You are either considering or beginning a career in digital design. You have a small portfolio of work, a curiosity for how brands live online, and big ambitions for where you want to go. No professional experience required. At Koto, you’ll work alongside strategists, designers, and writers to help create thoughtful digital experiences rooted in brand, UX, and craft. This is an opportunity to learn by doing — contributing to real projects while developing your skills in a fast-moving studio environment.

Requirements

  • Focus area and passion in digital design, UX/UI, branding, or interactive experiences.
  • A portfolio, personal projects, or experiments that show creative thinking and curiosity.
  • Excited about the internet, brands, culture, and how design shapes online experiences.
  • Basic understanding of tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and open to feedback.
  • Deep care for craft, ideas, and getting better every day.
  • Willing to work in person at our Culver City studio.
  • Can attend both work and meetings on time.

Responsibilities

  • Learning how brands behave in digital spaces — across websites, interfaces, motion, and interaction.
  • Designing and actively improving your craft across UX, UI, typography, layout, systems, and storytelling.
  • Learning from the team around you through observation, collaboration, feedback, and doing.
  • Demonstrating curiosity around digital experiences, design systems, accessibility, and how ideas translate into execution.
  • Contributing to real client and studio work, helping develop concepts, mockups, presentations, and design explorations.
  • Participating in critiques, reviews, and team conversations with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.
  • Being proactive, engaged in studio life, and looking for opportunities to support the team however you can.
  • Willing to work in person at our Culver City studio and can attend both work and meetings on time.

Benefits

  • Meaningful feedback throughout your internship to support your personal and professional development.
  • Engagement with the realities of the agency, doing the same work we do.
  • Frequent access to our team and opportunities to learn from them where possible.
  • An equal environment for all its employees.
  • Optional WFH day on Friday.
  • Additional 20 days of remote work a year.
  • Autonomy to manage your own time, hours, and personal commitments appropriately to complete tasks.
