About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Digital Design Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This position focuses on electronic systems and electrical design, simulation, and verification/validation testing of high-speed printed circuit boards (PCB) throughout the full product development cycle. The role involves designing high-speed digital circuits and performing signal integrity analysis. Responsibilities include providing design guidelines and support for system architecture design, board layout, product bring-up, debug, validation, and factory builds. This position requires obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.

Requirements

Years of related experience: 3+ for level 3, 5+ for level 4.
Experience in digital circuit design.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Ability to operate as electrical lead to coordinate the rest of the electrical design team for complex custom electronic systems.
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering.
Experience in high-speed digital circuit design with ability to perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards like 100G Ethernet, DDR3/4, PCIe.
Experience in processor board design or complex digital design including processor or FPGA System on a chip (SoC).
Familiar with high-speed serial interface protocol like ethernet, PCIe.
Experience in FPGA sizing and power to support board design.
Strong understanding of PCB in design for manufacturing (DFM).
Ability to mentor others and guide other in digital high-speed design and analysis.
Experience in schematic capture using Siemen (formally Mentor Graphic) Expedition Tool.

Responsibilities

Design high speed digital circuits and perform signal integrity analysis.
Focus on electronic systems and electrical design, simulation and verification/validation testing of high-speed printed circuit boards (PCB) throughout full product development cycle.
Providing design guidelines and support for system architecture design, board layout, product bring-up, debug, validation, and factory builds.
Develop design verification plan and perform system integration.
Perform circuit analysis and circuit design and digital circuit design in LTSpice or similar.
Perform post board layout signal integrity analysis.
Perform digital high speed design verification and validation including measurements.
Operate as electrical lead to coordinate the rest of the electrical design team for complex custom electronic systems.
