About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Digital Content Strategist to join their University Communications & Marketing team. This role is crucial in shaping and executing the digital content strategy for Uccs.edu and other supporting platforms. The position is based in Colorado Springs, offering a unique lifestyle at the base of the Rocky Mountains, combined with a vibrant tech scene. This is a one-year full-time position with the possibility of continuation based on university needs, funding, and hiring processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, Communications, or a related field required.
  • Extensive experience developing and executing content strategy, digital marketing initiatives, and higher education web content that align customer needs with business objectives and drive measurable engagement.
  • Proven ability to lead people, processes, and cross-functional projects while continuously improving workflows, establishing best practices, and managing complex content initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Demonstrated success working across teams and decentralized organizations, effectively navigating multiple stakeholders, priorities, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging web analytics, performance metrics, and customer insights to identify trends, optimize content strategies, improve user experience, and influence business outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling customer-centric narratives, simplify complex concepts, engage diverse audiences, and clearly articulate business value.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must have moderate experience as a designer, multimedia designer including the following: Digital content in Higher Education, Working with Clients.

  • Manage the full content lifecycle from ideation through implementation, ensuring consistency, accessibility, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and adherence to content governance standards.
  • Create, optimize, and maintain digital content across web and digital platforms to enhance user experience, increase engagement, drive traffic, and support lead generation and enrollment outcomes.
  • Analyze content performance using web analytics, SEO, AEO/GEO, and other digital marketing tools to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities, and implement data-informed improvements.
  • Establish and refine content management processes, workflows, and best practices that support operational efficiency, brand consistency, and long-term content sustainability.
  • Monitor emerging trends, technologies, and industry best practices in digital marketing, content strategy, search optimization, and user experience to enhance content effectiveness and organizational outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Enrollment Management, Web Services, UI/UX teams, Communications, Admissions, Institutional Data, and other campus stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of content strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop customer-centric content and digital experiences that support institutional priorities and business objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor by translating analytics, customer insights, and performance metrics into actionable recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop compelling narratives and content that effectively communicate institutional value, engage diverse audiences, and strengthen the university's brand presence.
  • Facilitate communication among decentralized teams and stakeholders to ensure content initiatives are coordinated, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maintain content governance documentation, standards, procedures, and reporting processes to support compliance, consistency, and accountability across digital platforms.
  • Prepare and present content performance reports, recommendations, and strategic updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project timelines, priorities, and deliverables for content-related initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within established guidelines.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), user engagement metrics, and enrollment-related outcomes to support strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain knowledge of evolving digital content, marketing, accessibility, and higher education industry standards.
