About The Position

Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Digital Content Specialist to join our team in Burnaby on a contract until mid-December 2026. The Digital Content Specialist supports the planning and execution of integrated communications and marketing activities that advance the organization’s strategic priorities and increase awareness of its programs and role. This includes developing and delivering social media and digital marketing campaigns, producing multimedia content, and supporting public awareness initiatives. Working collaboratively with Communications team members, this role contributes to the development of compelling, audience-focused content and campaigns that build understanding, encourage participation in programs, and strengthen the organization’s visibility with registrants and the public.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, social media and marketing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Experience with a variety of social media platforms and analytical tools including LinkedIn and Hootsuite with the ability to create compelling marketing and social media content and measure impact of these efforts through analytical reporting.
  • Ability to produce, shoot, and edit original and dynamic web videos, write articles for newsletters and web posts, and create posts for social media that engage existing audiences and build new ones.
  • Ability to move seamlessly across the organization, build positive relationships with staff from Individual Contributors to the Executive Team and collaborate with departments to generate creative stories and content in a variety of channels – including in support of marketing and engagement campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with the Communications Specialist, External to plan, develop, and execute engaging content and campaigns for the organization’s social media channels, aligned with organizational priorities, program promotion, and key initiatives.
  • Contributes to drafting, editing, and coordinating social media content, ensuring alignment with strategy, brand standards, tone, and messaging guidelines.
  • Monitors engagement and performance and identifies opportunities to optimize reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Works collaboratively with the Marketing and Engagement Specialist to plan and execute digital marketing campaigns.
  • Supports campaign planning, including audience targeting, message development, channel selection, scheduling, and monitoring of results.
  • Collaborates with program leads and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and alignment of promotional content.
  • Supports the development and deployment of campaign assets across digital channels, including email, social media, and web.
  • Tracks campaign performance and contributes to post-campaign analysis and reporting, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Plans, develops, and produces video content to support communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Leads story development, including concept ideation, scripting, and interview planning.
  • Conducts interviews and captures video footage in support of organizational storytelling.
  • Edits video content using appropriate software, ensuring high-quality production and alignment with brand standards.
  • Adapts video content for use across multiple platforms, including social media, web, and presentations.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to support the planning, development, and implementation of public awareness campaigns that promote understanding of the organization’s regulatory role.
  • Assists in the coordination of campaign components, including supporting the development of messaging, digital content, and timelines.
  • Works with the Marketing and Engagement Specialist, internal teams, and external vendors to deliver campaign elements effectively and on schedule.
  • Supports the evaluation of campaign performance and contributes to reporting and recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Develops and adapts content for a range of communications channels, including web, email, social media, and print.
  • Ensures all content aligns with the organization’s brand, voice, and editorial standards.
  • As required, provides support for internal communications initiatives, including drafting content and supporting new initiatives.
  • Assists in the development of materials that support employee engagement, organizational updates, and key initiatives.
  • Contributes to team planning and coordination, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes, tools, and content effectiveness.
  • Participates in the organization and on-site delivery of the Annual Conference and AGM as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by direct leader and, as appropriate, members of the departmental leadership team.
