About The Position

Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library is seeking a Digital Content Marketing Coordinator to manage day-to-day content operations across its owned social media channels, including Instagram and Facebook. This role involves scheduling and publishing approved social media content, maintaining the social media content calendar, and coordinating assets, captions, approvals, and deadlines. The Coordinator will also serve as Winterthur’s digital community manager, providing external customer service, replying to comments and messages, and fostering meaningful engagement with followers to elevate the organization’s brand presence. Additionally, the role includes coordinating blog content with internal subject matter experts, gathering materials, coordinating photography, tracking deadlines, and supporting publication. Collaboration with internal subject matter experts across the department and organization is key, involving research, content gathering, fact-checking, and obtaining approvals. Other duties may include making basic updates to the Winterthur website, writing social media captions, and contributing to blog content.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in social media, content coordination, project management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling, publishing, community management, and major social media platforms.
  • Significant attention to detail and excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to hold self and others to high standards.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as a member of the Marketing team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on strong copy writing.
  • Outstanding verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a variety of personalities diplomatically.
  • Strong understanding of office systems, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work at a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to traverse the estate on paved and unpaved surfaces in a moderately hilly terrain.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Driver’s license is required as on occasion golf carts are used to move around the estate.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in social media, content coordination, project management, or a related field in a museum environment.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Hive, or similar project management system.
  • Passion for nature, art, and history.
  • Genuine interest in Winterthur’s mission and in connecting audiences with its museum, garden, library, collections, and events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day content operations across Winterthur’s owned social media channels, including Instagram and Facebook.
  • Schedule and publish approved social media content provided by the Digital Content Producer.
  • Maintain the social media content calendar.
  • Coordinate assets, captions, approvals, and deadlines for social media content.
  • Ensure social media content is published accurately and on schedule.
  • Provide exceptional external customer service to Winterthur’s digital community, managing channel inboxes, replying to comments and messages, and escalating when needed.
  • Mediate internal requests, offering guidance or alternative solutions.
  • Uphold best-in-class practices for community engagement.
  • Coordinate blog content with internal subject matter experts, including gathering materials, coordinating photography, tracking deadlines, and supporting publication.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across the department and organization, performing research and gathering content, fact-checking and obtaining approvals as needed.
  • Potentially making basic updates to Winterthur website, writing captions for social media, and writing and contributing to blog content.
