About The Position

We are seeking driven, thoughtful candidates with experience in communications, policy, and publications to support impactful initiatives for our Federal clients at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Communications Specialist with Censeo, you will support communications and correspondence writing and outreach for the DHS procurement office.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required in Communications, English, Political Science, Economics, Public Policy, or a closely related field.
  • Experience managing digital content, content governance, quality assurance, or web communications initiatives.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and federal digital standards.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and quality control methodologies.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with strategic communications, performance reporting, policy communications, or federal program support.
  • Experience preparing executive-level correspondence in a federal agency, congressional affairs, or executive support environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources into concise and actionable communications.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or working with Federal agencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain digital communications content across websites, intranet platforms, knowledge repositories, and communication channels.
  • Review content for quality, accessibility, consistency, formatting, and compliance with DHS and federal communications standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews for executive correspondence, communications products, presentations, reports, and digital publications.
  • Support Section 508 compliance reviews and coordinate remediation activities when needed.
  • Maintain content governance processes, publication schedules, and content review workflows.
  • Analyze content performance and recommend improvements to usability, accessibility, and audience engagement.
