About The Position

The Core Skills Digital Communication & Outreach Student Interns will work with the University’s Skills Advantage Initiative and the PAGES program on supporting career readiness opportunities for FGCU students by assisting with social media management, digital communications, and community engagement.

Requirements

Currently enrolled as a student at the University and in good academic standing.
Proficient in using various social media platforms.
Availability to work 10-12 hours per week.
Physically able to table outside and move signage around campus.
Knowledge of social media design and software, including programs such as Canva.
Strong writing skills and editing skills
Strong oral communication
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to respond to supervision, guidance, and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
Ability to work well both independently and in team settings.

Nice To Haves

Skills such as photography and data visualization are preferred but not required.
Proficient utilizing CapCut or similar editing tools.
Federal Work Study (FWS) students encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities

Maintain a regular, weekly schedule of social media posts for our department programs
Assisting in management and development of social media content that aligns with program & messaging guidelines.
Supporting the coordination of events and outreach activities.
Designing graphics, posters, and promotional material using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
Follow brand and messaging guidelines set forth by the University and our program.
Tabling on campus to inform students about our programs.
Meeting weekly with supervisors and collaborators to plan and report on the progress of varied projects.
Attending meetings and events as necessary for planning and promotion.
