About The Position

The Digital Accessibility Policy Analyst IV serves as a subject‑matter expert and strategic advisor on digital accessibility across the organization. This role leads the development, interpretation, and implementation of accessibility policies, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with federal, state, and international accessibility requirements. The analyst partners with IT, UX, procurement, legal, and key university managers to embed accessibility into enterprise technology practices and long‑term strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight years of information technology support experience to include
  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of IT architecture, application of systems theory, advanced negotiation skills, enterprise-level operations, multi-team leadership and coordination, advanced project management, advanced vendor relations, advanced business acumen, change management, and IT industry.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • IAAP (CPACC, WAS, or CPWA) or other industry-recognized certifications.
  • Background in human‑centered design, usability, and inclusive design.
  • Solid understanding of WCAG 2.x, Section 508, ADA digital accessibility requirements, and ARIA.
  • Strong policy and regulatory interpretation experience.
  • Experience conducting accessibility testing using both manual techniques and automated tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE,).
  • Adept at assistive technology usage and clear understanding of how users with disabilities interact with digital systems.
  • Experience with procurement accessibility reviews (VPAT/ACR evaluation).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual and automated accessibility assessments of websites, applications, and digital products.
  • Use assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ZoomText, Dragon) to validate user experience for people with disabilities.
  • Analyze audit findings and provide clear, prioritized remediation guidance to technical teams.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and product owners to integrate accessibility into software development lifecycle processes.
  • Develop and deliver training, guidance, and educational materials on accessibility best practices.
  • Communicate complex accessibility concepts to non‑technical audiences in clear, actionable language.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams to promote a culture of inclusive design.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and compliance stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and update enterprise‑wide accessibility policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Interpret federal and international accessibility regulations (e.g., Section 508, ADA, WCAG, EN 301 549) and translate them into actionable organizational requirements.
  • Lead accessibility governance activities, including policy reviews, compliance assessments, and risk reporting.
  • Establish accessibility acceptance criteria for software development, procurement, and vendor management.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and emerging technologies to assess policy impact and recommend updates.
  • Conduct research on accessibility trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Analyze compliance data to identify systemic issues and recommend improvements.
  • Evaluate the accessibility implications of new technologies, platforms, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of the organization’s digital accessibility strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead cross‑functional working groups and accessibility initiatives.
  • Contribute to accessibility maturity assessments and long‑term planning.
  • Mentor junior analysts and serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on accessibility matters.
