About The Position

The Final Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections and quality checks on rebuilt differentials and related components prior to shipment. Working in a heavy-duty truck part remanufacturing facility, this position ensures all finished products meet or exceed company and customer specifications. The role plays a critical part in maintaining product reliability, preventing defects, and upholding the company’s reputation for quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, remanufacturing, or mechanical assembly preferred.
  • Experience with heavy-duty truck differentials, gear sets, or drivetrain components strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of differential operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring and inspection tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards or quality management systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final visual and dimensional inspections on remanufactured differentials and components.
  • Verify assembly accuracy, torque specifications, bearing preload, backlash, and gear pattern alignment.
  • Ensure all components are clean, properly lubricated, and free from leaks or contamination before release.
  • Confirm part numbers, serial numbers, and build documentation match production and order requirements.
  • Use precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, gauges) to verify tolerances.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming products or deviations from specifications.
  • Work closely with assembly technicians, supervisors, and engineering to resolve quality issues.
  • Complete inspection records, quality reports, and traceability documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the inspection area.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality policies, and company standards for remanufacturing operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and suggest process enhancements to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Able to record measurements, inspection results, and work orders using computer-based systems.
