Dietitian Working with Adults with IDD
About The Position
Soundly Speaking Therapy Services is seeking a registered dietitian to provide nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, and counseling to adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in Texas. The role involves working compassionately with clients and their caregivers/guardians to improve health and well-being through sound nutrition. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping individuals who may struggle to advocate for themselves and experience with diagnoses such as Autism, Down Syndrome, or Intellectual Disability. This is a part-time, W2 position currently performed via teletherapy, with the potential for in-person services in the client's home.
Requirements
- Valid Texas-issued Dietician’s License
- Comfortable working with adults in their homes and/or outside of a clinic
- Registered dietitian willing to put all of his or her nutrition knowledge to use
- Experience with adults who have diagnoses such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, among other diagnoses

Responsibilities
- Provide high quality therapy in the client’s home or online
- Communicate with families about the therapy sessions
- Communicate weekly with families about goals and progress
- Communicate monthly with case managers
- Adaptability and teamwork skills
- Turn in paperwork within a 24-hour timeline
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA, State, and Federal Regulations
