About The Position

This is a casual position for a Dietitian. The work schedule and shift premiums vary based on patient needs, with a weekend premium of $2.00/hour. The role involves performing the nutrition care process for patients at nutrition risk, providing nutrition counseling, applying new research, collaborating with other departments, conducting nutrition-related presentations, and performing other duties as assigned. Flexibility and availability for impromptu staffing arrangements during emergencies are also required.

• Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Responsibilities

• Performs the nutrition care process on patients who are at nutrition risk: Assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation
• Provide nutrition counseling to patients, family and caretakers after assessing current lifestyle.
• Provides follow up, as appropriate, to this counseling (inpatient and outpatient)
• Apply new research, information and concepts to daily work
• Collaborate with other departments to plan and implement patient care and nutrition education
• Perform nutrition related presentations to the community and staff, as needed
• Perform other duties as required or assigned
• Comply with Hospital policies, accreditation requirements and quality assurance initiatives
• Is flexible and available when emergency situations require impromptu staffing arrangements
