Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or CDR-Eligible within 6 months of hire or transfer.
  • As of January 1, 2024, a master’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and completion of an approved Dietetic Internship is required.
  • Individuals who established eligibility for the Registration Exam for dietitians on or before December 31,2023 or those already registered are not required by CDR to obtain a graduate degree.
  • Ability to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job.
  • Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive.
  • Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness, and compassion.
  • Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with others.
  • Must be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationally.
  • Sound clinical judgement based on evidence-based practices required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Dietitian/Nutritionist from the NY State Office of the Professions or subspecialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides compassionate patient-centered care
  • Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients using evidence-based practices
  • Provides consultation with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective Nutrition care
  • Monitors and evaluates nutrition outcomes of patients; adjusts care plans as needed.
  • Educates patients, the healthcare team, dietetic interns, and the community via various means including one-on- one counseling, interdisciplinary rounds, committee membership and community events.
  • Participates in departmental and inter-departments process improvement activities, regulatory surveys, malnutrition documentation as required
  • Documents patient care via Electronic Health Record
  • Meets and maintains the qualifications to provide care to patients in the assigned area
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Shift differentials based on eligible shifts worked: Weekday evening shift - additional 10%, Weekday night shift - additional 15%, Weekend day shift - additional 10%, Weekend evening & night shifts - additional 21%.
