About The Position

The qualified consulting dietician is a consultant who is not considered an employee. This consulting dietician shall possess a current state of Louisiana license and shall establish an organized system for the delivery of food service instructions/ directives. This individual will work closely with the Home Managers to ensure appropriate nutritional needs are being met. Work is performed in the community home setting with visits at least quarterly or as needed based based on the residents individualized support planning needs.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed Dietician/ Nutritionist
• Must have a current Louisiana Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Maintains a current list of individuals with special nutritional needs
• Have an effective method of recording and transmitting diet orders and changes
• Record in the individuals medical records information relating to special nutritional needs
• Provide nutrition counseling to staff and indivuals and manage/coordinate the resources of the dietary services to achieve effective, efficient, and sanitary production
• Ensure any modified diet for an individual is prescribed by the individuals physician and service plan with a record of the prescription kept on file: planned, prepared and served by community home staff who have received adequate training; and periodically reviewed and adjusted as needed.
