Requirements

Must be a Registered Dietitian with a current, active license.
Must be a Certified Dietitian with a current, active license.
Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
Utah State Hospital provides comprehensive violence prevention and deescalation training for all employees during orientation. Ongoing training is provided to prioritize staff and patient safety.
Utah State Hospital employees must pass both pre-employment and routine background checks.

Nice To Haves

In-depth understanding of principles, theories, and practice of dietetics and nutrition.
The ability to use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw reasonable conclusions.
Experience in delivering presentations or training others.
Solid knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures.
The ability to understand, present and receive information clearly, concisely and effectively in written and verbal form.

Responsibilities

Assess patients dietary needs.
Work with patient treatment teams to develop plans to meet those needs.
Measure progress, review data and report findings.
Occasionally deliver presentations, trainings or instructions to staff, management and clients.
