About The Position

The Dietetic Internship Coordinator (Public Health Nutrition Consultant) position with the Pennsylvania Department of Health supports a program that helps improve nutrition and health for families across the state. This role offers a rewarding mix of organization, teamwork, and meaningful service. Each day brings new opportunities to keep the internship program running smoothly. Your work will directly support future dietitians as they grow in their training. This position supports the Dietetic Internship Program within the Bureau of Women, Infants and Children (WIC) by helping manage daily operations, maintain program records, and assist with coordination across training sites. It plays an important role in keeping the program organized, compliant, and responsive to the needs of interns and partners.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional nutrition or dietetics experience in a public health, education, social service, or closely related setting
  • A master’s degree in human nutrition or a closely related field
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support scheduling, track program requirements, and maintain accurate records for internship activities
  • Assist with documentation, monitor standards, and help ensure compliance with Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) requirements
  • Coordinate with training sites, preceptors, staff, and committees to support clear program communication
  • Provide guidance, prepare materials, and help address intern questions related to program expectations
  • Organize program files, track student progress, and ensure documentation is complete and accessible
  • Support budgeting, procurement tasks, and administrative needs that help the program function smoothly
