Join Kentucky’s commitment to healthier families as a Dietetic Consultant with the Department for Public Health, Division of Maternal and Child Health. In this leadership role, you will supervise a team of dedicated nutrition professionals within the WIC Nutrition Section while driving the planning, coordination, and quality oversight of dietetic services for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Services Program. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the Breastfeeding Education and Peer Programs, ensuring evidence-based, accessible care reaches communities across the state. As the State Nutrition Coordinator for the USDA’s WIC Program, you will collaborate with partners, guide program standards, and help advance public health outcomes for mothers and young children. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful statewide impact while leading innovative nutrition initiatives, with additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission of improving maternal and child health in Kentucky. This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as a result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.
