In this role, you’ll support resident nutritional care by assisting with assessments, care planning, meal monitoring, and dietary documentation. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nutrition or related field
  • 1 year working in food service
  • Registered Dietetic Technician credential required
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing programs
  • Knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary care planning, and food service operations
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field preferred
  • 3 years working in food service in a skilled nursing facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with nutritional assessments, dietary histories, and documentation for new admissions
  • Monitor resident meal intake, weights, nutritional supplements, and laboratory values, identifying concerns and trends
  • Review and update dietary care plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and nutritional records
  • Verify physician diet orders and document dietary changes in the medical record
  • Communicate nutritional recommendations and resident concerns to nursing staff, the Dietitian, and the Food Service Director
  • Conduct meal rounds and observe residents during meals to evaluate dietary interventions and nutritional status
  • Assist the Food Service Director and dietary staff as needed to support resident care and dietary operations
  • Participate in care plan meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Chair meetings in the Registered Dietitian's absence as appropriate
