About The Position

The Dietary Staff position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment within healthcare or food service facilities. The primary goal of this role is to ensure that all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards. This position supports the dietary team by facilitating a hygienic workspace that enables the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to clients or patients. The Dietary Staff plays a critical role in preventing contamination and foodborne illnesses by adhering to strict cleaning protocols. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of those served by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in kitchen cleaning or a similar role within a food service environment.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in food safety or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe).
• Experience working in healthcare or institutional dietary settings.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils according to established health and safety guidelines.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables properly to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen workstations to support meal preparation activities.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report inventory needs to ensure continuous availability of necessary materials.
• Collaborate with dietary and kitchen staff to maintain compliance with food safety regulations and facility policies.
