About The Position

Avoca Specialty Care, a 45-bed long-term care skilled nursing community located in Avoca, IA, is now hiring a Full-Time Dietary Service Manager (DSM). This role is a vital part of the dietary team and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents during their healthcare journey. Requirements

• Documented completion of State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course
• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service
• Willingness to complete training in Food, Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets

Nice To Haves

• Certified Food Protection Manager and ServSafe® Certification preferred
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting a plus!

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, including meal preparations, service, sanitation, and staffing
• Ensure residents receive nutritious meals that meet physicians' orders, dietary restrictions, and individualized care plans
• Supervise, coach, and support dietary team members to promote quality service and teamwork
• Manage food ordering, inventory, budgeting, and cost controls to ensure efficient department operations
• Collaborate with department teams to support resident nutritional needs and satisfaction
