Requirements

  • Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and food safety standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Food Handlers Permit

Nice To Haves

  • Food handler’s certification or equivalent preferred
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and patient-specific requirements
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control procedures to ensure consistency and quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Assist in inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies
  • Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs
  • Ensure all food safety regulations and hospital policies are strictly adhered to
  • Monitor food temperatures and presentation to ensure optimal quality and safety
  • Support meal delivery processes to ensure timely service to patients
