About The Position

DeCoach Recovery Centre, a local leader in addiction treatment is currently hiring a dietary cook for our Dayton location. We offer a range of evidence-based treatments and therapies tailored to each patient's unique needs, with a focus on long-term recovery and wellness. We are currently hiring for a Dietary Cook to work with our team at our Dayton in-patient facility. As a dietary cook, you will assist in planning menus, preparing meals according to dietary guidelines, follow proper food handling and storage protocols, while maintaining cleanliness and adhering to facility and health department standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience as a cook in a healthcare, hospitality, or similar setting preferred.
Knowledge of dietary requirements, including special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic).
Strong culinary and knife skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to the menu and dietary guidelines.
Adjust recipes as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
Meal Delivery to local DeCoach housing locations, and monthly catering.
Follow proper food handling and storage protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, appliances, and equipment.
Adhere to health department standards and facility policies.
Assist in planning and updating menus in collaboration with the dietary manager.
Ensure portion control and minimize food waste.
Monitor food supplies and notify the manager of replenishment needs.
Ensure ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
Work closely with dietary aides and other staff to ensure smooth service.
Communicate with nursing staff or dietitians regarding specific resident dietary needs.
