Requirements

Considerable knowledge of sanitation regulations and practices as applied to institutional kitchens.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of experience in institutional food handling.
Previous experience in a Nursing Home, Corporate Office, Hospital or School setting.
Culinary school graduate

Responsibilities

Prepare food items under acceptable conditions as outlined under state and local regulatory standards and guidelines.
Follow all established policies and procedures, and additionally, may be directed by the Executive Chef and/or Director of Food and Nutrition Services, to further assure that quality food services are provided at all times.
Consistently follow the menu and special diet instructions as prescribed by the attending physician.
Prepare food according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and cooking schedules to meet mealtime schedules.
Assist in establishing food service during the production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
Process food items according to diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing units.
Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
