About The Position

DTAC is seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Dietary Cook to support food service operations at our all-girls residential treatment facility in Cranberry Township, PA. This position focuses primarily on preparing and serving nutritious meals during weekend shifts while supporting a safe, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. The full-time Food Service Associate manages inventory, ordering, documentation, government food programs, and resident life-skills training, allowing this role to focus on meal preparation and food service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, values consistency and quality, and wants to make a positive impact on the lives of youth in a residential setting.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • ServSafe Certification is mandatory
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain Act 33 Clearances, Criminal History Clearance, and FBI Act 73 Clearance
  • Ability to pass Safe Crisis Management training
  • Basic understanding of nutrition, meal preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of food quality and cleanliness
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical demands of food preparation and kitchen cleaning
  • Reliable attendance and transportation
  • Willingness to complete an on-site cooking skills test during the interview process (ingredients provided)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food service, dietary services, commercial kitchens, healthcare, residential treatment, corrections, school cafeterias, or similar environments
  • Experience preparing meals for groups
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience working in highly structured environments
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic residential treatment setting

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals according to established menus
  • Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff
  • Accommodate approved dietary restrictions and special dietary needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Properly store food and maintain food quality standards
  • Complete required kitchen cleaning and closing procedures
  • Communicate effectively with residential staff regarding meal service needs
  • Support an efficient and positive food service operation
  • Perform other food service-related duties as assigned
