Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with established policies and procedures. This role involves reviewing menus, preparing meals, ensuring food procedures are followed, and completing administrative requirements. The cook will also assist in establishing food service production lines, processing diet changes, preparing appetizing and palatable meals, serving meals according to portion control, preparing bedtime snacks, and assisting with cleaning duties and special meal preparations. The position also requires maintaining stock levels, treating residents with dignity and respect, promoting resident rights, adhering to facility policies and regulations, following safety and hygiene measures, maintaining confidentiality, reporting noncompliance and any allegations of abuse, and participating in emergency drills. The cook must also complete assigned training and maintain food storage areas and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
