This position is responsible for managing and operating the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The cook prepares tasteful meals in large quantities, follows prepared menus and portion control guides, and accurately prepares special diets and pureed foods. The role requires maintaining a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment, recording food temperatures, and ensuring sanitizer buckets are properly maintained. The cook will also assist with serving meals, cleaning the cooking area and serving carts, and making food presentations appealing. This role involves participating in the orientation and training of dietary staff and ensuring cleaning schedules are followed. The cook reports to the Dietary Supervisor.
