About The Position

Responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of food to patients and staff at Johnson County Hospital. This role is crucial in maintaining the nutritional standards and dietary requirements set by healthcare professionals. By ensuring that meals are prepared correctly and served on time, Dietary Aides help improve patient recovery and overall health.

Requirements

Previous experience in a healthcare or food service setting.
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special dietary needs.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working with patients of all ages and health conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Good hygiene and grooming standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals according to specified dietary requirements.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of dining areas.
Monitor and report any changes in dietary needs or preferences to the supervisor.
Ensure that food is stored and handled properly to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
Assist with inventory management, including the stocking of food supplies and pantry items.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and healthcare providers to deliver consistent and high-quality service.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing tasks.
Provide nutritional support and information to patients and their families when necessary.
Assist in training new Dietary Aides or kitchen staff as needed.
Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor or CEO.
