About The Position

Medical Hill Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable, skilled, and passionate Dietary Cook to join its dietary services team. The role prepares nutritious, high-quality meals that support residents' health, comfort, and well-being, while meeting individual dietary needs. The ideal candidate takes pride in food quality and presentation and enjoys contributing to resident care through food service.

Requirements

• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Food handler certification or other required credentials, as applicable.
• Compassionate and resident-focused attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cooking or food service experience is preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare setting, or institutional kitchen is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and established dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, appetizing, and properly portioned.
• Follow prescribed diets, texture modifications, and other resident-specific dietary requirements.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Keep the kitchen, cooking equipment, and food preparation areas clean and organized.
• Monitor food supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Coordinate with dietary staff to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
• Follow infection control procedures and applicable health department regulations.
• Minimize food waste while maintaining meal quality and portion consistency.
• Support the dietary team in providing excellent service to residents.
