About The Position

Lodge of the Wabash is recruiting for a Full-Time/Part-Time Cook and Aide position. This role involves preparing and cooking family-style meals and snacks for residents of a skilled nursing facility according to the facility menu. The Cook works under the direction of the Dietary Manager and may be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of non-supervisory employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager. This position requires carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

Nice To Haves

• Nursing Home experience preferred but not required.
• Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
• One-year institutional food service experience as a cook preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks family style meals for residents of a skilled nursing facility per the facility menu.
• Prepares snacks for residents.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of non-supervisory employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Relates information concerning a resident's condition to supervisor or nurse.
