The Dietary Associate will be an active member of the dietary team, providing the best dietary service for patients, employees, and staff. This role requires the ability to work weekends and holidays. The associate will perform functions of a food service helper according to department policy and procedure, including preparing assembly line stations for patient tray service, assembling food items for patient tray service according to marked menus, and transporting food carts to and from designated areas on patient floors. Responsibilities also include collecting garbage, scraping and washing dishware, and scrubbing and sanitizing pots and pans. The role emphasizes safe and sanitary work practices, including utilizing proper body mechanics to prevent injuries and maintaining a neat, clean, and sanitary work area. Age-specific communication skills are also a requirement.
