About The Position
The Dietary Aide supports patients’ nutritional needs by taking meal orders, preparing and assembling patient meals, and delivering and collecting meal trays. The role includes restocking food and nutrition items, maintaining proper stock rotation, and cleaning and sanitizing trayline equipment and serving areas. The aide must understand patient diets well enough to serve meals accurately and ensure food is of high quality and served at the appropriate temperature. Computer-related activities are also part of the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of patient diets sufficient to serve patient meals accurately.
Responsibilities
- Take patient meal orders.
- Deliver carts to the correct floor or patient area.
- Collect trays and place garbage and trash in designated containers.
- Replenish floor stock with food and nutrition items.
- Assemble required portions for patient meals and ensure high-quality food is served at the appropriate temperature.
- Assist with assembling flatware and kitchenware.
- Maintain proper rotation when restocking floor stock.
- Set up, break down, and sanitize patient trayline equipment and serving areas.
- Perform computer-related activities as required.
