About The Position

White Oak Manor York is looking for a Dietary Aide to join their team. This is a full-time position on the 1st shift, with hours from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm. The facility is a 109-bed campus with a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of food preparation, knowledge of food safety and sanitation, the ability to follow menus and special diet instructions, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Previous experience in dietary services in the long-term care industry is a plus but not required.

Requirements

Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
Ability to follow menus and special diet instructions
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a steady pace
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service
Reliability and attention to detail
Six months experience preferably in institutional food preparation or related field

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in providing dietary services in the long-term care industry

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and service of daily meals following planned menus
Prepare food in accordance with special diets and resident needs
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
Assist with inventory, stocking, and other kitchen-related duties as needed
Work collaboratively with the dietary team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Support high standards of quality, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction
