About The Position
White Oak Manor York is looking for to fill a position as Dietary Aide to join their team and make a difference in the lives of the residents they care for. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of food preparation, food special diets, follow menu, food safe and sanitation, a positive attitude, and a commitment to quality service and cleanliness. They are looking for a self-motivated team player who works well under pressure and is able to maintain a fast pace in their active kitchen. In this role, the Dietary Aide will help prepare a variety of daily meals, as well as maintain kitchen cleanliness and assist with inventory and other tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to follow menus and special diet instructions
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a steady pace
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service
- Reliability and attention to detail
- Six months experience preferably in institutional food preparation or related field
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in providing dietary services in the long-term care industry is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and service of daily meals following planned menus
- Prepare food in accordance with special diets and resident needs
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and other kitchen-related duties as needed
- Work collaboratively with the dietary team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Support high standards of quality, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction
