About The Position
White Oak Manor York is looking for a Dietary Aide to join their team. This is a full-time position at a 109-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The role involves making a difference in the lives of residents by providing high-quality dietary services. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of food preparation, special diets, menu adherence, food safety, and sanitation, along with a positive attitude and commitment to service and cleanliness. The position requires a self-motivated team player who can work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to follow menus and special diet instructions
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a steady pace
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service
- Reliability and attention to detail
- Six months experience preferably in institutional food preparation or related field
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in providing dietary services in the long-term care industry is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and service of daily meals following planned menus
- Prepare food in accordance with special diets and resident needs
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and other kitchen-related duties as needed
- Work collaboratively with the dietary team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Support high standards of quality, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction
