About The Position

The Dietary Aide performs a number of kitchen activities including, but not limited to, dish washing, general cleaning duties, daily meal service, assisting other dietary positions with meal preparation and storing food and non-food supplies. This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands and mental competencies of this job require the employee to maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Requirements

Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test
Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Direct Services Workers Registry.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, utensils, and pots and operates dish washing equipment.
Use all cleaning chemicals and materials as prescribed and handle in a safe manner.
Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.
Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures and standard precautions of safety.
Taking and delivering food and beverage orders.
Ensuring resident satisfaction.
Ensuring that quality standards and service are being delivered.
Deliver meals to residents unable to dine in the dining room.
Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.
Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
May assist with basic kitchen preparations and/or serving.
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors promoting a homelike environment.
Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor for the benefit of the residents.
