About The Position

Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing is seeking a temporary Dietary Aide to support its Dietary Department. The role helps provide quality food service while following facility policies and procedures, including infection-control, safety, and sanitation requirements. The position requires availability for rotating weekends; the listed shift is every other weekend from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Pay is $25.63 per hour.

Responsibilities

Assist with dietary functions as instructed and in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Prepare portions and serve appropriate amounts of food, beverages, and desserts for meals, following infection-control procedures.
Prepare and deliver nourishment to units at appropriate times in a safe and sanitary manner.
Set up trays and place settings according to therapeutic diets and meal tickets in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.
Assist with mealtime setup according to diet cards, therapeutic diets, food preferences, and required food consistencies.
Store food items, supplies, and chemicals according to procedure.
Stock needed items in appropriate quantities for the Dietary Department.
Prepare, wash, sanitize, and properly handle dishes, utensils, and cooking utensils.
Operate, clean, and sanitize equipment and carts used by the department.
Clean assigned food-service work areas according to posted schedules.
Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work environment, including removing trash and cleaning trash receptacles.
Follow the posted work schedule.
Attend scheduled in-service education programs.
Discuss Dietary Department problems, needs, or concerns with the Food Service Director.
Support the Food Service Manager in promoting positive employee relations and effective communication among facility staff.
Follow facility safety, sanitation, fire, disaster, and personnel policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
