Forest Acres Post Acute is a beautiful 132-bed skilled nursing and rehab facility conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Columbia, South Carolina! We are passionate about providing exceptional care while creating meaningful relationships with our residents, families, and team members. We're looking for a Dietary Aide who is dependable, energetic, and enjoys making a difference in the lives of our residents every single day. From preparing delicious meals to creating a warm dining experience, you'll play an important role in helping our residents feel at home.

Requirements

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Team player who enjoys helping others
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read technical procedures
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate

  • Dietary or food service experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation and tray assembly
  • Serve meals with a friendly smile
  • Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and organized
  • Wash dishes and sanitize equipment
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work alongside an awesome team to provide exceptional resident care
  • Set up meal trays
  • Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes
  • Assist with serving the different meals
  • Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift
  • Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles
  • Operate dishwasher
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks
  • Sweep and mop kitchen
  • Carry out trash and garbage
  • Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner
  • Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and be of assistance when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor
  • Clean work surfaces and refrigerators
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors
  • Participate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff
  • Ability to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments
