About The Position

Richmond Community Services, a leading nonprofit provider of support services for the disability community, is seeking a Dietary Aide for our Yonkers Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). This role is responsible for preparing and setting up meals, desserts, salads, nourishments, snacks, and school lunches for staff and/or individuals of the facility. The position also involves maintaining the general sanitary upkeep of the kitchen area.

Requirements

Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language.
Ability to lift large food storage containers from freezers, refrigerators, and storage room, weighing up to 10 lbs, and carrying them to preparation areas.
Ability to use all extremities for cleaning and sanitizing.
Auditory and visual acuity.
Ability to read and communicate verbally using the English language.

Nice To Haves

HS Diploma or GED preferred
1-year of experience in commercial food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and set-up meals, desserts, salads, nourishments, snacks, and school lunches for staff and/or individuals of the facility.
Maintain general sanitary upkeep of the kitchen area.
Prepare steam table by filling the unit with hot water.
Transport food trucks by walking, pushing/pulling a loaded cart weighing up to 60 lbs to and from the Team Units via the elevator throughout the facility.
Manually transport trays weighing up to 20 lbs, while climbing/descending all flights of stairs throughout the facility, in cases when elevators are not functioning.
Prepare snacks, nourishments, and thickened fluids.
Clean and sanitize equipment, food trucks, meal trays, tables, and counter tops.
Prepare and set up meal items such as salads, sandwiches, coffee, tube-feedings, and desserts.
Read, understand, and implement dietary orders as prescribed by Dietitian.
Fill meal/food orders from staff by receiving written receipts and verbal requests.
Label all prepared foods as required.
