About The Position

Apple Rehab Guilford is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide for its 86-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Guilford, Connecticut. The role supports meal and snack preparation, dining-area cleanliness, supply organization, and positive daily interactions with residents. The Dietary Aide helps maintain safe, sanitary workspaces and follows facility infection-control, safety, and food-handling procedures. The listed schedule is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every other weekend, described in the posting as 3 hours per week. The starting rate is $17.75 per hour.

Requirements

Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop, and stretch.
Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and lift large items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to write and record data and to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Ability to remain calm and work efficiently during emergencies.
Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff, and family members.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing meals and snacks, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
Help clean dining areas and maintain a pleasant, hygienic environment for residents.
Assist with receiving, organizing, storing, and rotating food and other supplies.
Engage with residents and provide assistance to support a positive dining experience.
Clean work areas and wash dishes, pans, and utensils in accordance with sanitation standards.
Follow infection-control, safety, sanitation, and food-handling regulations.
Keep food storage areas and workspaces clean and safe, and promptly report safety or sanitation violations to the supervisor.
